Shopify Order Lookup for NetSuite — Chrome Extension

Last Updated June 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how SixLakes Consulting (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the Shopify Order Lookup for NetSuite Chrome extension (“the Extension”). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how the Extension works.

1. What the Extension Does

The Extension has a single, narrow purpose: it renders Shopify order GraphQL JSON payloads in a structured, Shopify-like order detail layout directly within NetSuite. This allows users to view third-party Shopify order details alongside NetSuite transaction records without requiring a separate Shopify login or context switch.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

This Extension does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data or user data with us or any third party. Specifically, the Extension does not collect:

  • Personally identifiable information (name, email address, etc.)
  • Health information
  • Financial or payment information
  • Authentication credentials or passwords
  • Personal communications
  • Location data or IP addresses
  • Web browsing history
  • User activity (clicks, keystrokes, mouse movements, etc.)
  • Website content beyond what is locally rendered within the Extension itself

All Shopify order data rendered by the Extension is provided directly by the user and is processed entirely within the browser. No data leaves your device as a result of using this Extension.

3. Permissions and Their Use

The Extension requests the following Chrome permissions, each used solely to fulfill its single purpose:

  • tabs — Used to open the rendered Shopify order detail view in a new extension tab when the user chooses full-tab mode, and to identify the active tab to provide context-aware behavior alongside the NetSuite transaction page.
  • activeTab — Used to detect the currently active NetSuite tab so the Extension can associate the Shopify order data being rendered with the correct NetSuite transaction context.
  • storage — Used to persist user preferences (such as rendering options) locally in Chrome’s storage API so users do not need to reconfigure the Extension on each use. No data is synced externally.
  • sidePanel — Used to open the Shopify order detail viewer in Chrome’s built-in side panel so users can review Shopify order data alongside the active NetSuite transaction without switching tabs.
  • Host permissions (*.netsuite.com, *.app.netsuite.com) — Required to activate the Extension on NetSuite environments. Because NetSuite account URLs vary by organization, a wildcard subdomain pattern is necessary to support all users. The Extension does not read, transmit, or store any data from these pages beyond what is needed to render the side panel in the correct context.

4. Remote Code

The Extension does not use remote code. All JavaScript executed by the Extension is bundled within the extension package itself. No external scripts, modules, or dynamically evaluated strings are loaded at runtime.

5. Local Storage

The Extension uses Chrome’s chrome.storage API to save user preferences on your local device. This data never leaves your browser and is not accessible to us or any third party.

6. Third-Party Services

The Extension does not integrate with or send data to any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

7. Children’s Privacy

The Extension is designed for use by business professionals in a workplace context. It is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect any information from children.
